Will Shore is a Brooklyn based producer, composer, vibraphonist, and a longtime resident on The Lot Radio. His sets are rooted in dance music but freely traverse genres and styles in search of eclectic selections that steer you off the map. His musical projects are as wide ranging as his DJ sets: He has opened for both Laraaji and Shabaka Hutchings with his solo project, and has releases on Mister Saturday Night Records and Pique-nique Recordings. He has an avant-percussion trio with Kenny Wolleson and Dalius Naujo called Užupis, produces in the electronic pop duo TMBOY, and conducts a rotating group of downtown jazz luminaries in Pedestrian. He has placed music in ads for Adidas and Apple, and is an ASCAP award-winning TV music writer with credits on NBC, History Channel, Bravo, and Netflix. As a sideman, he has played vibraphone for Arto Lindsay's Noise Quartet, Dave Harrington Group, Nels Cline's Lovers, Joseph Shabason, Francis Harris, and Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris.
Eclectic, organic dance music that works its way from leftfield, deep-house, and minimal techno to krautrock, ambient, and free jazz. A percussive yet atmospheric mix with a playful commitment to sonic experimentation, Will Shore’s unpredictable combinations include original productions, obscure world artists, and new music from local jazz musicians. With a tripped out vibe and shadowy through line, the show works equally well as a soundtrack to a chill morning hang on the system at home, or as an after-hours set when things get weird and the dance floor opens up. Artists on heavy rotation include: Ricardo Villalobos, Pépé Bradock, Theo Parrish, DJ Sotofett, Jan Jelinek, Oren Ambarchi, Eiko Ishibashi, Arto Lindsay, Jon Hassell, Don Cherry, Bobby Hutcherson, Oumou Sangaré, and Tony Allen.
