TIMO (TIH-mo) ELLIS (he/him) is a musician, composer, and producer. He lives and works in New York City, where he was born and raised. ​ A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Ellis has appeared on almost 100 albums over the past twenty years. He has recorded and toured with such artists as Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto, Joan As Police Woman, Joseph Duplantier (GOJIRA), Lydia Lunch, War On Women, Foetus/ J.G. Thirlwell and Spacehog, and has variously performed and collaborated with Mark Ronson, John Zorn, The Melvins, Ween, The Lemonheads, Money Mark, Car Bomb, Gibby Haynes and Maya Azucena, among many others.His progressive sludge band NETHERLANDS has been active since 2010 and in fall 2024, after many years in gestation he launched his new solo music avatar OOMASOOMA, and will be releasing literal mountains of new music under this moniker for the foreseeable future.
